Advancing economic justice, environmental progress, and safe jobs through worker and community education, research, and partnership building.

For more than 50 years the Labor Institute has been helping workers stay safe while promoting worker power, environmental protection, and social justice.
- We train working people and their allies how to lead educational programs for their co-workers and partners using our small group activity method.
- Our training addresses economic inequality, democracy, labor and the environment, worker safety and health, and mass layoffs.
- We partner with unions, environmental organizations, community groups, immigrant worker centers and tribal organizations to develop, test, evaluate, and share new educational programs and ideas.
- We also write books, articles, and papers to inspire new ways to see the world.

Les Leopold explains how things got this way, and what workers can do to grow their own power.
